The New Revelation on the Gun Reform to End the Mass Shootings in the United States

The Balanced Proposal to Save People’s Lives and Protect the Legal Gun Rights

(May 30, 2022, Salt Lake City) The recent mass shootings in Buffalo, NY and Uvalde, Texas have caused over 30 people being killed by two young men with semi-automatic AR15 rifles. more and more people are calling for the reform of current gun laws for more tighter gun control. However, there are also many people insist on the Second Amendment of the US Constitution for the gun right of law-abiding citizens.

The main question is how to balance the constitutional gun right of the Second Amendment and the tighter gun control to save more lives.

Peace Messiah reveals the balanced proposal of the gun reform that can end or reduce the mass shootings to save more people’s lives and protect the constitutional gun rights of law-abiding citizens.

“First, we have to tighten the background check to prevent guns and rifles from falling into the hands of criminals and mentally unstable people.” Said Peace Messiah, “This background check won’t affect the legal rights of law-abiding citizens on their purchasing or owning guns or rifles.”

“Second, we should raise the minimum legal age of gun ownership to 21, instead of 18.” Said Peace Messiah, “In the United States, there is a federal law that prohibits young people under age 21 from buying alcohol. How could they be allowed to buy assault weapons under age 21?”

As both shooters in the mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde are teenagers of age 18, if we can raise the age limit to 21 or even higher for semi-automatic rifles, these tragedies could be avoided.

“Third, Require mandatory education for Semi-automatic Weapon License or Permit.” Said Peace Messiah. “Many states require mandatory education for concealed weapon permit. The Semi-automatic rifles are much more dangerous and lethal than hand guns. There should be some mandatory education required for license or permit to purchase and own semi-automatic rifles.”

“These three proposals could help reduce the mass shootings greatly. Hopefully, the Congress of the United States can create a bipartisan bill of gun reform to end the mass shootings to save more people’s lives while still protecting the legal rights of gun ownership for law-abiding citizens.”
